Training & Development Specialist
position will successfully develop and deliver branch level
functional training necessary to (1) bring new set-up, U/W
and closing associates up to speed quickly (2) fully develop
existing branch associates in their current job function
(3) cross train branch associates and (4) develop branch
associates for the next step in their career path. Branch
associates include loan set-up, underwriting and closing
personnel. Functional training includes job specific technical
skills; policies, procedures and processes; and technology
This position works closely with management in understanding
and prioritizing training needs. Training will be delivered
in a variety of formats including classroom and self-study
Needs Assessment and Development (20%)
Development, Implementation and Measurement (80%)
Four-year college degree or equivalent
Master’s degree in training or related field preferred
Five years mortgage industry experience in the areas of underwriting,
funding, and closing (2 years underwriting loans).
One year experience funding and closing loans.
Two years experience designing, developing, and delivering
• PC skills required, MS Windows environment, MS Word,
Computer-based training software and tools
Loan origination system and automated underwriting system
Strong skills in the areas of needs assessment, training
design, development, and delivery.
Extensive knowledge of mortgage industry business processes
in the areas of underwriting, funding, and closing.
Knowledge of Adult Learning styles.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or
without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to travel nationwide.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
Ability to work independently
